The Miami County Commission race for District 3 is another race that resulted in a runoff after the August primary.
Keon Hardemon, an attorney who currently serves as a Miami City commissioner, narrowly missed avoiding a runoff election in November. Hardemon will now face Gepsie Metellus, a Haitian community activist who currently serves on several local councils and organizations. Hardemon secured 49% of the vote with Metellus securing about 21%.
This David v. Goliath race, underscored by the massive lead Hardemon had over Metellus back in August, will be an interesting one to watch. Don’t forget Election Day is Nov. 3.
