We all know the legend of “Florida Man.” It’s a personal meme, for when someone says it, you draw up your visual from someone you remember, or an old story of the eccentric.
Media creative giant Netflix announced last week they were looking for extras in Wilmington, North Carolina, while shooting their new crime-drama series entitled, yes, “Florida Man.”
Florida’s Legislature eliminated most tax breaks for entertainment-production funding, so producers look to nearby states for the savings. Those states receive the economic benefits of job creation and production spending. Somehow “Wilmington, North Carolina Man” doesn’t have the same impact.
