Rep. James Bush III, who represents House District 109, will serve as the grand marshal of the annual Martin Luther King Day Festivities.
The parade kicks off at 10 a.m., Monday at Northwest 54th Street and 10th Avenue in Miami-Dade County, ending at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park in Miami-Dade County.
Bush recounted his experience as a young man attending the funeral and seeing the body of the slain civil rights leader.
“The experience was very inspiring and created a sense of urgency to follow in his footsteps,” Bush said in a news release from his office.
