Former School Board Chairwoman Rosalind Osgood has won the Special Democratic Primary in Broward County’s Senate District 33.
She’s going to succeed Sen. Perry Thurston, but she’ll likely have to run again before she can cast a vote her first Senate vote.
Osgood is heavily favored to win the March. 8 Special General Election against Republican Joseph Carter to represent central-west Broward. But Session ends March 11, so she’s unlikely to be seated before then, when Thurston’s term ends.
Unofficial results showed Osgood won 75% of the votes counted Tuesday night in the contest with community activist Terri Ann Williams Edden.
