by carlislewillard

Broward County lawyer, lobbyist and fundraiser Michael Moskowitz died late Saturday, a year and a half after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was 68.

Moskowitz died just days after seeing his son, Jared Moskowitz, sworn in as an appointed Broward County Commissioner.

The elder Moskowitz had hosted Democratic luminaries at his Parkland home including then-Vice President Joe Biden, former President Bill Clinton, former U.S. Sen. Joe Liberman and former Florida Education Commissioner Betty Castor.

Weston Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz wrote a Twitter tribute describing the departed Moskowitz as “the most devoted parent, loyal friend, fierce competitor and true #mensch.”
