The Panthers have been dominating lately, following up a 7-1 win over Dallas with a 9-2 rout of Columbus. That gave them the first overall spot in the NHL standings and they show no signs of slowing down.
That left them 8-0-1 since the season resumed after the Christmas break, during which they outscored opponents 54-24. Their home record of 21-3 is the best in the league.
It’s about to get tougher, though. Following the Columbus game, the Panthers have 19 of their next 27 games away from friendly Sunrise. Before this stretch, they have played only 14 road games.
