The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce named Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera as its third-annual Chamber Legislative Champion, an award honoring Florida lawmakers who significantly and positively impact Miami’s business community.
Cabrera is recognized for her work as the House sponsor of SB 1954, which created a $100 million yearly earmark in the state budget and established programs to prepare Florida for the effects of sea level rise.
“Having a comprehensive, statewide plan and annual, dedicated funding plan,” said GMCC President and CEO Alfred Sanchez, “was a significant accomplishment that will certainly open doors to creative, innovative solutions and business opportunities.”
