Brightline’s on its way to expanding to Orlando

by carlislewillard

Florida’s Brightline high-speed train had positive news for travelers in its monthly financial report on Friday.

In December, more than 95,000 people traveled between Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach using Brightline, despite an average ticket price that increased by 38% in December, from $9.55 to $13.21.

Brightline said a 168-mile extension connecting West Palm Beach and Orlando International Airport is nearly 70% complete. That segment is expected to be completed in 2022. The update also included news that Brightline is “well positioned” to secure federal funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, to extend its network west to Tampa.
