Democratic Rep. Matt Willhite has pulled ahead in his neck-and-neck money race with Michelle Oyola McGovern to represent District 6 Palm Beach County Commission.
After McGovern led the field in November, Willhite raised $21,000 in December for a total of $234,000 available, reports show.
Willhite and McGovern have consistently been the top fundraisers in the four-person field to succeed term-limited Commissioner Melissa McKinlay. McGovern added just $3,600 last month after leading the field in November. The outgoing commissioner has endorsed McGovern.
Tampa’s Tomorrow PC and Psychiatrist Laura DeLuca of Wellington were Willhite’s largest donors, each donating $5,000 to Willhite’s PC.
