Help wanted: Hurricanes need new assistant coach

by Margaret Willard

Bryan McClendon, who followed head coach Mario Cristobal from Oregon to the University of Miami, is on the move again before he ever coached a game.

McClendon, who was the Hurricanes wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator, jumped to the national champion Georgia Bulldogs, where he will coach the receivers.

McClendon and Georgia go a ways back: He played there.

The Monday announcement leaves Cristobal in a tough spot, with National Signing Day set for Wednesday. He has yet to fill out his coaching staff, including both offensive and defensive coordinators, and now has an extra headache to deal with.
