Torey Alston and Jared Moskowitz officially took their seats on the Broward County Commission last week, and Moskowitz made it clear that he’s not just going to be filling a seat for a year.
Alston and Moskowitz received gubernatorial appointments to finish unexpired terms of Commissioners Barbara Sharief and Dale Holness.
Moskowitz, former director of the state’s Division of Emergency Management, proposed changing Broward County to an elected mayor form of government. He said asking voters to approve that change is coming soon to a commission agenda.
Another question he proposed putting to the voters: changing Broward County’s name.
