Miami Film Festival returns in hybrid form

The 39th Annual Miami Film Festival returns in March with a hybrid event combining in-person theatrical presentations and virtual screenings of 120 films from more than 35 countries. The festival’s competition categories have $100,000 in prize money at stake.

Set for March 4-13 and sponsored by Miami Dade College, the event specializes in showcasing Latin American cinema.

The festival attracts more than 60,000 audience members and more than 400 filmmakers, producers, talent and industry professionals annually, organizers say.

The 2021 film, “The Good Boss – nominated for 20 of Spain’s film awards – will open the festival.
