The Florida Ethics Commission will be asked at its March meeting to agree on a proposed $1,000 fine against Dale Holness, a current candidate to represent Florida’s 20th Congressional District.
The proposed fine stems from the complaint of Richard Giorgio of Patriot Games, a political consulting firm representing former Broward County Commissioner Barbara Sharief. In addition to being Holness’ Commission colleague, Sharief was Holness’ rival to succeed U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings in the Democratic Primary last November.
Holness failed to report income on rental properties as required of elected officials during his service with the Commission, an investigation found.
