Tax-free Formula One tickets proposed

by carlislewillard

The first Formula One Grand Prix event held outside of Texas in years is coming to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens this May, and legislation now advancing would allow attendees to skip paying taxes on tickets.

A Florida House committee unanimously OK’d a massive package of proposed tax cuts that includes F1 ticket sales tax exemptions.

That carve-out would bring F1 in line with other major sports events, including the Super Bowl and NBA, MLB and NHL all-star games. It’s also an exemption Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium and F1 Miami owner Stephen Ross has pursued for years.
