Sen. Annette Taddeo’s campaign for Governor received endorsements from three members of school boards facing penalties for defying Gov. Ron DeSantis’ prohibition against requiring students wear masks.
The Miami Democrat’s commitment to education received the praise of Orange County School Board member Johanna Lopez, Miami-Dade County School Board members Lucia Baez-Geller and Luisa Santos.
“Currently, Republicans are trying to take more than $70 million from our school district for political revenge, and Annette is fighting back!” said Baez-Geller, referencing the plan to take $200 million in state aid from districts that required masks aiming to stop the spread of COVID-19.
