The University of Miami women’s basketball team saw its amazing run through the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament fall one win short.
The No. 7-seeded Hurricanes beat three teams, including No. 2-seeded Louisville and No. 3-seeded Notre Dame, before falling in the championship game 60-47 to top-seeded North Carolina State.
They also missed a chance to win the program’s first ACC tournament championship. The Lady ‘Canes would have been the lowest-seeded team ever to win the tournament.
Still, the strong finish pushed Miami’s overall record to 20-12 and likely earned the Hurricanes a berth in the NCAA Tournament field. Selection Sunday is March 13.
