The good news: Inter Miami scored its first goal of the season.
The bad news: Its opponent, Austin FC, scored five times on the way to a 5-1 rout that dropped Inter Miami to 0-1-1.
Austin, playing at home, wasted little time in taking command, scoring twice in the first 28 minutes. Austin then added a goal just before halftime to make it 3-0.
“We know that we’ve got some new players in the team that are gonna take time to gel and learn, and they’ve got to learn fast and learn on the job,” Head Coach Phil Neville said.
