Coral Gables will get $975,000 in state funds for the electric vehicle-charging and solar-power components of a planned parking garage and mobility hub in the heart of the city.

Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera requested the one-time earmark.

The money, which Coral Gables will match for a total $1.95 million set-aside in state and local funds, will cover a small portion of the $42 million project, which is to break ground by September at 245 Andalusia Ave. and includes 700-plus parking spaces, a rooftop terrace with venue and café areas, micro-mobility accommodations, retail and e-commerce logistics for drone package delivery.
