A Broward County monorail moving travelers between the airport, cruise ships and Brightline trains looks to be a go, the Sun Sentinel is reporting.
The $600 million project is getting its first funding. The state’s Department of Transportation is going to kick in $12.9 million for the design phase of the project.
The first phase of the project will move people around the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Construction could begin in. three and be completed by 2030.
The monorail would be 60 to 65 feet above ground and operate calls for it to be operating the same hours as the airport.
