The Panthers eliminated any doubt that they’re pushing in all the chips to win the Stanley Cup.
They traded for seven-time all-star forward Claude Giroux and defenseman Ben Chiarot ahead of Monday’s trade deadline.
Giroux played 1,000 games for the Philadelphia Flyers and served as that team’s longest-tenured team captain. He also was this season’s All-Star game MVP.
“Claude has been one of the most complete talents in the National Hockey League for over a decade,” Panthers General Manager Bill Zito said.
He added, “We are thrilled to be able to welcome a player of his caliber to our lineup.”
