Second half dooms UM’s Final Four dream

by The 100 Companies

The historic season by Miami’s men’s basketball team ended a game short of the Final Four. Despite leading by six points at halftime, the Hurricanes fell 76-50 to top-seeded Kansas.

It was UM’s first trip to the Elite Eight in school history and the ‘Canes took a 35-29 halftime lead.

“We did a darned good job in the first half playing the way we wanted to play, but Kansas came out in the second half and really hit us with a knockout punch,” UM coach Jim Larranaga said.

Miami, picked No. 12 in the preseason ACC poll, finished the season 26-11.
