New UM football Coach Mario Cristobal turned to the NCAA transfer portal to fill a major hole in the Hurricanes’ defense.
Linebacker Mitchell Agude, a second team-all conference last season at UCLA, committed to Miami after wrapping up an official visit in Coral Gables. Oregon and Washington also recruited Agude and he was scheduled to visit the University of Tennessee but canceled that trip.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
The Hurricanes must replace both starting defensive ends from last season and find at least three frontline linebackers. The Miami Herald reported Agude could wind up at defensive end.
