Hotelier Ricky Tsay has shifted his campaign to House District 119, where he’ll face fellow Republicans Roberto Gonzalez and Jose Soto in trying to secure a first-time state legislative win.
In a statement announcing the move from House District 118, Tsay committed to fighting for smaller government and working to stop “socialist policies” coming from the federal government.
Tsay (pronounced “sigh”) works in his family’s real estate and hotel business, Tsay International. So far, he’s poured about $150,000 of his own money into the race.
HD 119 has no incumbent and no current Democratic candidate.
The Primary Election is Aug. 23.
