Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: Lauren Book. Yes, Book is facing a significant Primary contest despite serving as Senate Democratic Leader. But days after former Broward County Commissioner Barbara Sharief announced her Primary challenge, Book secured several endorsements from Senate colleagues. That confirms Book will have significant backing from the party as she navigates the race.

Loser: Annette Taddeo. Consultant Christian Ulvert, a significant part of Taddeo’s operation since 2017, is departing Taddeo’s gubernatorial campaign. Ulvert called her a friend and “fighter” but is leaving to pursue other work. The Democratic Primary contest isn’t over, but Taddeo is behind and this doesn’t help.
