Winner: Shevrin Jones. The White House selected Jones to serve on President Joe Biden’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Jones, a Florida A&M University graduate, is a longtime Biden-backer and will serve alongside university and business leaders on the board.
Loser: James Bush III. Bush had a target on his back after breaking with Democrats on multiple major votes this past Legislative Session. Now, Ruth’s List Florida – a group helping elect women candidates who support abortion rights – is endorsing Democratic Primary challenger Ashley Gantt as she seeks to unseat Bush from his Miami-Dade County House seat.
