After voters in Lake Worth Beach overwhelmingly agreed to impose term limits on its City Commissioners, Deerfield Beach is asking voters to add another term to the time that the Mayor and Commissioners can serve.
The City Commission recently approved putting the question before voters in November to change the city charter.
Right now, the city’s Mayor and Commissioners are limited to two consecutive four-year terms. If voters agree in November, they would be eligible to serve three consecutive four-year terms.
Mayor Bill Ganz, Commissioner Bernie Parness and Commissioner Todd Drosky are serving their second term on the City Commission.
