March marked a milestone for Democratic Sen. Shevrin Jones, who is moving south to run for re-election in reconfigured Senate District 34.
His fundraising in just two weeks put him over $1 million raised since he won his Senate seat in November 2020.
Jones emerged from the Legislative Session last month to face an old foe: former Miami Gardens Council member Erhabor Ighodaro. During the 2020 Primary, Ighodardo, one of five Democrats Jones faced that year, drew rebukes for comments critics labeled homophobic.
Jones responded by saying constituents wanted a “champion, not their judge” and went on to handily win the race.
