Politics is all in the family: Second South Florida couple on the ballot

by carlislewillard

Political and government relations specialist Kevin Marino Cabrera is making a bid to represent District 6 on the Miami-Dade County Commission, potentially adding a second husband-and-wife team to the roster of South Florida elected leaders.

Cabrera, who is married to Coral Gables Republican Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera, filed Tuesday to succeed term-limited Miami-Dade Commissioner Rebeca Sosa. Cabrera is a senior vice president at a public strategy firm Mercury.

Another South Florida couple is also on the ballot: Yvette DuBose is running for the Fort Lauderdale City Commission and her husband, Bobby DuBose, is vying to become a Broward County Commissioner.
