An aide to Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime was arrested and jailed for more than a dozen charges including some that involved official misconduct, the Miami Herald reported Friday morning.
Early in the afternoon, Evelt Jeudy’s bond was listed at $148,000 bond, jail records show.
Evelt was arrested on unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior, exploiting a public position, organized fraud more than $50,000, second degree theft, and racketeering, records show.
His boss, Monestime, has been on the County Commission since 2010 and his term ends in 2022.
Jeudy was booked and jailed after midnight on Friday, the Herald reported.
