The school boards of Broward and Miami-Dade counties are seeing some of their longtime members opting to leave the dais.
Miami-Dade County School Board Chairwoman Perla Tabares Hantman, who has been on the board since 1996, announced last week she would not seek re-election this fall, the Miami Herald reported.
Broward County School Board’s Chairwoman Laurie Rich Levinson won’t be seeking a fourth, four-year term on the board, the Sun Sentinel reports.
Other longtime board members who are not on the ballot are Ann Murray, first elected in 2008 and Rosalind Osgood, first elected in 2012, now in the Senate.
