Soccer stadium project moves closer to reality

by carlislewillard

What will Inter Miami’s new stadium look like, assuming it opens in a few years?

The Miami Herald offered renderings to show preliminary designs for the stadium at what is now Melreese golf course near Miami International Airport.

The stadium is designed for 25,000 seats but could be expanded to 40,000 if need be.

Miami Commissioners voted 4-1 recently to give David Beckham and his partners a 99-year lease on city-owned land. The tract will include a stadium for the MLS team along with a hotel, shops, and a parking garage.

Beckham still needs zoning approval for the stadium project.
