The release of a draft opinion showing that the Supreme Court plans to overturn the landmark ruling that made abortion legal up to 23 weeks galvanized a number of South Floridian pols to action. Among them:
• Sen. Lori Berman of Delray Beach said she has drafted legislation to roll back legislation passed this Session that bans abortion after the 15th week of pregnancy and make the right to an abortion part of Florida law.
• Broward County Commissioner Jared Moskowitz, running for Congress, called for Democrats to bypass the filibuster in Congress to pass a similar law at the federal level.
