Democratic Miami Commissioner Ken Russell is within striking distance of incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. María Elvira Salazar in the race for Florida’s 27th Congressional District, per a new survey Russell’s campaign commissioned.
The survey by Orlando polling firm The Kitchens Group found 41% of 350 likely voters polled in April would have voted for Russell had the election occurred then. Forty-three percent said they’d vote for Salazar; 15% percent were undecided.
“This contest is a dead heat and well within the margin of error for the survey,” TKG personnel wrote.
The margin of error was +/- 5.2 percentage points.
