South Florida’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: Lauren Book. Book may be facing a Primary challenge, but she’ll be plenty well-funded to hold onto her Senate seat and position as the Senate Democratic Leader. Book posted her strongest fundraising month during her years-long legislative career in April, adding more than $476,000. She holds $2.8 million in cash.

Loser: Rosalind Osgood. Osgood is technically running as an incumbent Democratic Senator in Senate District 32, though she won re-election just months ago and did not participate in this year’s regular Session. Now, she has to face outgoing Rep. Patricia Hawkins-Williams in the Democratic Primary, complicating her re-election effort.
