The Heat dominated the third period to pull away from Boston for a 118-107 win in the opening game of their NBA Eastern Conference final Tuesday in Miami.
Jimmy Butler was a man on a mission for Miami, with 41 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks. The Celtics, who were without starters Al Horford and Marcus Smart, were led by 29 points from Jayson Tatum.
Boston led 62-54 at halftime, but Miami outscored Boston by 25 points in the third period and cruised to the win.
Game 2 is Thursday in Miami before shifting to Boston.
