Highly regarded Marlins pitching prospect Max Meyer was placed on the Minor League seven-day injured list with ulnar nerve irritation.
Meyer, a right-hander, was selected third overall by the Marlins in the 2020 Major League Baseball Draft. He is MLB Pipeline’s No. 31 overall prospect.
The Marlins do not believe Meyer’s injury is serious.
Meyer opened the season strongly, allowing just six earned runs in 31 1/3 innings. However, he struggled in his last two starts for the Marlins Triple-A affiliate, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, surrendering 14 runs in 8 1/3 innings.
Meyer had a dominating spring training with Miami.
