Broward County Commissioner Jared Moskowitz was running for Congress for just 27 days in the first quarter, but federal campaign reports show that he managed to amass $665,641.

Moskowitz is vying for the Democratic Party’s nomination to succeed U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch.

Notable names donating to his Democratic campaign include Senate Democratic Leader Lauren Book, who gave the maximum, along with her father, Ron Book, who is one of the state’s most influential lobbyists. John Morgan of Lake Mary, founder of the personal injury firm Morgan & Morgan, also gave the maximum. And Sen. Janet Cruz of Tampa chipped in $250.
