Airports in Fort Lauderdale and Miami enjoyed one of their busiest periods since pandemic began last month, when travelers flooded terminals over Memorial Day weekend.
Secure identity company CLEAR, which operates biometric screening lanes in airports across the country, reported that Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Miami International Airport had more passenger movements over this holiday weekend than in 2019.
Both placed in the top five nationwide below George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport and Orlando International Airport and above Phoenix Sky harbor International Airport.
That increased traffic, a CLEAR spokesperson said, is a “leading indicator of the rebound of the travel industry.”
