South Florida residents are paying the price – the most in the state – as gas prices continue to creep up, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group.
The state’s gas price average reached an all-time high last week of $4.76, as it jumped 18 cents, according to AAA. The pain at the pump is even worse downstate – the Palm Beach-Fort Lauderdale market hit $4.81. Greater Miami area is at $4.80.
Florida gas prices are now 66% more expensive than a year ago. It costs $71 to fill an average size 15-gallon tank of gas – $29 more than what drivers paid this time in 2021.
