Winner: Annette Taddeo. It’s usually not a “win” to drop your bid for Governor. But with Taddeo’s path to victory narrowing, it was the right call. And after swapping to the race for Florida’s 27th Congressional District, Taddeo was immediately rewarded with some major endorsements.
Loser: Florida Democrats. The party is forced to divert resources to a Senate District 35 Primary, leading Rep. Mike Grieco to drop his Senate bid in a winnable district, citing a lack of resources. Consultants also hit the party for not providing data needed to reach voters. Democrats are making a tough election year tougher.
