Fort Lauderdale’s assistant city manager for the past two years is slated to become the big boss, Mayor Dean Trantalis tweeted.
Greg Chavarria who came to Fort Lauderdale after having the top job in Hallandale Beach, replaces Chris Lagerbloom. He’s leaving after six years at the helm.
Chavarria has been in previous leadership positions in Doral and Miami, Trantalis said.
He starts his new role July 23 and salary negotiations are now underway.
Chavarria’s LinkedIn profile says he has a bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Miami and a master’s in information systems management from Florida International University.
