West Palm Beach’s “Pride on the Block” event canceled its planned family-friendly drag show, as police said a Canadian teen intended to shoot it up and Gov. Ron DeSantis said he would be looking at ways to stop kids from attending drag shows.
The Palm Beach County Human Rights Council, Compass LGBTQ+ Community Center, the Pride Business Alliance, Transpire Help and Pride on the Block issued a joint statement saying the shows would go on … eventually.
“We will continue to host our events … for all open-minded, accepting individuals to enjoy the diversity of these freedom-loving communities everywhere” the statement said.
