The four-way race for Miami-Dade County Commission’s District 6 seat keeps getting hotter with two rivals raising six figures last month.
Coral Gables Commissioner Jorge Fors, a lawyer, raised more than $231,000 in May for his race to represent District 6 on the Commission.
Meanwhile, Kevin Marino Cabrera, a government relations consultant, outpaced him in May donations, adding nearly $299,000.
Also in the race: business owner Dariel Fernandez and Miami Springs Councilman Victor Vazquez.
Rep. Bryan Avila was in the race, but then dropped out to run for the Senate seat vacated when Sen. Manny Diaz was named Education Commissioner.
