Floridians – 2.3 million of them – are expected to set a record for hitting the road on the Independence Day holiday despite gas prices hitting a new high, predicts AAA – The Auto Club Group.
Predictions for Fourth of July travel by air, train, bus and boat show less participation than the pre-pandemic 2019 July holiday. But Floridians are still going to get away – even if gas prices are 60% higher than last year’s $3.01 per gallon.
Predictions are for 2% more to take to the skies than last year, even with tickets at 14% more than 2021, averaging $201 per ticket.
