It’s a shame the Marlins can’t play the last place Washington Nationals every game.
Miami used a 10 th -inning two-run homer by Bryan De La Cruz to drop the Nats 3-2. It was the Marlins’ seventh consecutive win over Washington and their 12 th out of the 13 games the two teams have played against each other.
The victory also pulled Miami to within two games of .500 nearly halfway through the season. The hot streak has also elevated the Marlins into the National League wild-card race. They trail the St. Louis Cardinals by only four games for the final wild-card spot.
