Mike Grier, the younger brother of Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier, is reportedly about to be named the first Black GM in the National Hockey League.
ESPN reported that the San Jose Sharks will name Grier to the post. They will be the first Black brothers to become GMs of pro teams.
Mike Grier played 14 seasons in the NHL, including stints with the Sharks, Buffalo, Washington, and Edmonton.
He also served four years as a scout for the Chicago Blackhawks, and then spent the past season as an operations advisor the for Eastern Conference finalist New York Rangers.
