The Miami Marlins are not one of the elite teams in Major League Baseball, but they do have an elite pitcher in Cy Young contender Sandy Alcantara.
He has the opportunity to showcase his stuff when he enters the All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium.
Alcantara has allowed only 27 runs in 138.1 innings pitched, including just four total in his last four starts. His 1.76 ERA leads the National League.
He will be joined on the All-Star roster by fellow Marlins player Garrett Cooper, but second baseman Jazz Chisholm, Jr. will be unable to play because of a strained back.
