New public art in Boca Raton debuts

by carlislewillard

Public art is blooming in the parks along Boca Raton’s Intracoastal Waterway.

City workers recently put the finishing touches on metal sculptures at Silver Palm Park, which is also the site of the city’s popular boat launch, and the Wildflower property, named after the hopping ‘80s club that once stood there.

May + Watkins Design, Brooklyn, New York, designed the artwork.

The two parks are currently undergoing renovation as part of the city’s Waterfront Master Plan, city officials said. The Wildflower property with walkways, green spaces, a pavilion and a pedestrian connection to Silver Palm Park, is opening in September.
