‘Canes receiver Sam Bruce died of a heart attack

The cause of death for former University of Miami wide receiver Sam Bruce in April was a heart attack.

That was the conclusion of a Broward County Medical Examiner report obtained by TMZ Sports. The report said the manner of death was “natural.”

Bruce died on April 28 while driving his car in Fort Lauderdale. He was a key player on dynamic teams at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Bruce was so dominant on the field he was nicknamed “The Samborghini.”

He was considered a major signing for the Hurricanes but was released for violating team rules shortly after arriving.
