Miami Beach voters will decide in November whether the Deauville hotel site can be redeveloped into a 375-foot condo tower where there’s a height limit of 200 feet, the Miami Herald reports.
If approved, the derelict Deauville site, set for demolition, would be redeveloped into residences and a hotel. Stephen Ross, chairman of Related Companies and architect Frank Gehry pitched the project as revitalizing the area in a way that pays homage to Miami Beach’s history.
Building 175 rooms and 150 condos will generate $6 million for the Community Redevelopment Agency and $3 million in resort taxes, an analysis shows.
